How have fillies by Quality Road sold at two-year-old sales performed on the racetrack?
ChivalryAIFrom the sales ring to 206 race starts.
The returned sale group contains 37 fillies by Quality Road. Of those, 27 had raced, recording 29 wins from 206 starts and 80 top-three finishes.
That connects the group selected from sale history to how those horses performed on the track.
Race performance of the returned Quality Road sale group Race performance Total Fillies in the sale group 37 Fillies with a race start 27 Race starts 206 Wins 29 Top-three finishes 80 How the group was selected
Sale history identified fillies by Quality Road with a two-year-old sale classification and a recorded price. Race history supplied the starts and finishes for that group. The returned race records span July 20, 2014 to May 3, 2026.
Reading the performance
73.0% of the fillies had made a start. Across the 206 starts, the win rate was 14.08% and the top-three rate was 38.83%. These are different measures: the first describes horses, while the latter two describe race starts.
The graded stakes view
The group had no graded stakes wins and two graded top-three finishes. Urban finished second in the Grade 3 Sweet Life Stakes at Santa Anita on February 12, 2022. Kokomotion finished third in the Grade 3 Florida Oaks at Tampa Bay Downs on March 7, 2026.
The graded stakes view captures only part of the group’s stakes performance. A follow-up can include all stakes races and identify the horses responsible for those results.

Consider all stakes races in their race performance.
ChivalryAIEleven stakes runners. Two stakes winners.
Including all stakes races, 11 of the 37 fillies made a stakes start. They recorded 2 wins and 9 top-three finishes from 22 stakes starts.
Overprepared and Ms Quality Control supplied the wins. Here is every stakes runner returned for the group.
All stakes runners in the returned Quality Road sale group Horse Starts Wins Top 3 Overprepared 5 1 3 Ms Quality Control 2 1 2 Ali Alley 3 0 1 Urban 4 0 1 Kokomotion 2 0 1 Cheetah Lady 1 0 1 Get Your Kicks 1 0 0 Chantilly Road 1 0 0 Pure 1 0 0 Britain 1 0 0 Lemhill Basr 1 0 0 A broader stakes picture
The original graded-only view showed two top-three finishes and no wins. Including all stakes races brings the group to nine top-three finishes and two wins. Urban and Kokomotion remain the two fillies with graded stakes placings.
What counts as a stakes race
The conversation first clarified how stakes should be identified, then used the recorded stakes race-type classification. Graded status is a separate field. The stakes records returned span November 15, 2014 to April 4, 2026.
The follow-up takes the research from a group total to the individual horses behind it. Overprepared and Ms Quality Control account for both stakes wins and five of the nine stakes top-three finishes.
Session date and research scope
Edited from the May 7, 2026 conversation. This preview combines the request to include all stakes with the subsequent clarification to use race type STK. All 11 returned stakes runners are shown. Results reflect that saved session, not a live query.

Compare Sierra Leone and Fierceness from a bloodstock perspective.
ChivalryAIConsistency, class, and range.
Both reached the highest level, but they offer different evidence from a bloodstock perspective.
Saved comparison of Sierra Leone and Fierceness, racing records through 2025 Horse Sire × dam Wins / starts Sierra Leone Gun Runner × Heavenly Love 5 / 14 Fierceness City of Light × Nonna Bella 7 / 14 Sierra Leone
He finished in the top three in all 14 starts, including all nine of his Grade 1 appearances. His five wins included the Breeders’ Cup Classic and Whitney.
His dam, Heavenly Love, is a Grade 1 winner. He sold for $2.3 million as a yearling at Fasig-Tipton Saratoga.
Fierceness
He won seven of 14 starts, including four Grade 1s. His wins ranged from six furlongs to 1¼ miles, and his Breeders’ Cup Juvenile victory established his quality at two.
The distinction: Sierra Leone brings exceptional consistency and a Grade 1-winning dam. Fierceness brings more wins, juvenile championship form, and a wider winning-distance range.

How do their female families compare?
ChivalryAIThe family behind the horse.
Sierra Leone’s female family has high-class runners across several generations and branches. Fierceness’s family has its own strong connections.
Sierra Leone’s female family
His dam, Heavenly Love, won the Grade 1 Alcibiades. His second dam, Darling My Darling, was twice Grade 1-placed and is also Forever Young’s second dam.
His third dam, Roamin Rachel, won the Grade 1 Ballerina and produced Japan’s Horse of the Year, Zenno Rob Roy.
Fierceness’s female family
His second dam, Nonna Mia, produced Wood Memorial winner Outwork. His third dam, Holy Bubbette, produced Cairo Prince.
Fierceness’s full brother, Mentee, adds another graded winner to the immediate family.
What stands out: Sierra Leone’s family connects elite racing in North America and Japan. Fierceness’s includes two established American sires, Outwork and Cairo Prince, alongside success in his own generation.

Read Thorpedo Anna’s record by distance. Where did she perform best?
ChivalryAISix wins at 1⅛ miles.
Her strongest proven record was at 1⅛ miles, with six wins from seven starts. Those wins included five Grade 1s: the Kentucky Oaks, Acorn, CCA Oaks, Breeders’ Cup Distaff, and Personal Ensign.
Her completed career starts break down as follows, all on dirt:

Her career total was 12 wins from 16 starts, including 10 graded stakes wins.

How did she handle a mile and a quarter?
ChivalryAIA head away in the Travers.
She came within a head of winning the 2024 Travers Stakes against males, finishing second to Fierceness in a field of eight. It was her only start at 1¼ miles.
That is a much stronger performance than a bare “0 wins from 1 start” might suggest. The race was a Grade 1, and the narrow margin matters when assessing how she handled the extra distance.
The useful distinction is ability versus proven record. The Travers puts 1¼ miles within her demonstrated range. Her best-supported distance remains 1⅛ miles, where six wins from seven starts provide considerably more evidence than a single attempt at ten furlongs.
